Making Friends with Maxx: Hello, I`m Maxx. You will find that I`m as cute as can be, full of love and bursting with energy. I love to run, jump and play, go for walks, eat, snuggle and give kisses. I need someone who is as active as I am, has a fenced yard so I can run and chase toys, has a sense of humor because I love to make you laugh, and will give me proper training because I am just a puppy after all. I`m only one year old but my life has been rough. I`ve been in and out of different places and I got dumped on the street.

But the nice people at Coastal Poodle Rescue found out that I had a problem and I`ve been diagnosed with diabetes insipidus. It`s related to water metabolism and not insulin so no shots. DI is due to the lack of a specific hormone which regulates my bodys retention of water. While it is not curable, it is not life-threatening. I just need access to lots of water and someone to let me outside often so someone who is home most of the time would be the best place for me. The condition can be controlled with eye drops or pills. You and your vet can decide on what course of action would be best.

And remember, I may look like a little bandit but the only thing I`ll steal is your heart.

Current Health: Diagnosed with Diabetes Insipidus, a water metabolism condition. Prescribed Desmopressin Acetate 0.1 mg to help control water intake. He is responding extremely well.
Medicines Needed: Prevention plus desmopressin acetate to help control water intake
